Knox County Fatal Collision

(Flatlick, Ky.) – On Saturday May 3rd , 2014 at 0149 hours, Post 10 received a call reporting an injury accident on Turkey Creek Road in the Flatlick Community of Knox County. A 2008 Pontiac G6 operated by a Juvenile was traveling North on Turkey Creek Road when it went off roadway and overturned on its top. Upon Tpr. Aaron Frederick's arrival the vehicle involved in the collision was fully engulfed and the driver was trapped inside. Four passengers were transported by Knox County EMS to landing zones and flown to the University of Tennessee and University of Kentucky Medical Centers. The fifth was treated at the scene and released. The operator of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene by Knox County Coroner Mike Blevins. Tpr. Aaron Frederick continues the investigation into the collision. Tpr. Frederick was assisted at the scene by Tpr. Frank Russell, Sgt. Jason Bunch, Knox Co Coroner Mike Blevins, Knox Co EMS, East Knox Fire Dept, and Barbourville Fire Dept./Rescue Squad.
