Prestonsburg Man Killed in a Collision on Ky 194

(Prestonsburg, Ky.) -- On Sunday February 3, 2013 Post 9 Pikeville received a call from the State Highway Department in Allen, Ky. advising of a single vehicle accident on Ky 194 in the Cow Creek community of Floyd County. Trooper Brad Hamilton, Transtar Ambulance Service and Floyd County Rescue Squad responded to the scene. Information obtained at the scene indicates that 49 year old Billy L. Crider of Prestonsburg, Ky. was traveling West on Ky 194 when his vehicle left the roadway, traveled over an embankment and came to final rest on it's roof. Crider was pronounced deceased at the scene by Floyd County Coroner Greg Nelson. A passenger in the vehicle was transported to Highlands Regional Medical Center and then air lifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident. This accident remains under investigation by KSP Trooper Brad Hamilton.
