Traffic Delay KY Route 40 in Martin County

(Martin County, Ky.) -- On Thursday January 17, 2013 Post 9, Pikeville received a call that a section of Ky Rt. 40 had fallen away. Information received indicates that approximately 100 feet of roadway between the 0 and 1 mile marker had fallen away. Department of Transportation states that this section of Route 40 is down to one lane and a traffic signal has been installed. Department of Transportation states there will be periodic road closures starting the week of January 21, 2013. Department of Transportation says roadwork will be completed by January 25, 2013. Kentucky State Police asks motorists to use caution when traveling on this section of Route 40.
