Injury Collision in Montgomery County

(Mt. Sterling, KY) - On September 15, 2013 at 6:28 p.m. Kentucky State Police Morehead received a call from Montgomery County Dispatch of a two vehicle injury accident at the 105 mile marker on Interstate 64. Kelsey Davis, 19 of Independence was operating a 2006 Pontiac G6 eastbound on Interstate 64. Her vehicle swerved into the passing lane almost striking a 1998 GMC pickup operated by Zachary Brown, 18 of Hillsboro, OH. Mr. Brown swerved to miss the vehicle driven by Ms. Davis causing his vehicle to strike the guardrail. After contact with the guardrail, Mr. Brown struck Ms. Davis in the passenger side. After contact with the vehicle, Mr. Brown over corrected, causing the vehicle to overturn in the roadway. Mr. Brown was taken to St. Joseph East hospital in Mt. Sterling, KY with non life-threatening injuries. Ms. Davis was not injured and refused medical treatment at the scene. The accident caused Interstate 64 to be shut down for approximately an hour. The accident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Morehead.
