Lexington Woman Injured in a Collision on the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway

(Stanton, KY) -- On Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 10:43 P.M. Kentucky State Police in Morehead was notified of a single vehicle accident at the 23 mile marker of the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway near Stanton. Trooper Joseph Zalone, Powell County Sheriff's Department, and Powell County EMS responded to the scene. Cathy Potter, 58 of Lexington, was operating her 2003 Lexus SUV west bound on the Mountain Parkway when a deer entered her lane of travel. Mrs. Potter struck the deer, exited the left shoulder into the median, causing the vehicle to overturn and came to a final rest on the vehicle's roof. Cathy Potter was airlifted from the scene to the UK Medical Center in Lexington, where she is listed in stable condition. Mrs. Potter was wearing her seat belt during the accident. Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be factors. The accident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Trooper Joseph Zalone.
