Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Wreck in Jackson County

(McKee, KY) -- On Monday, December 30, 2013 at 10:20 a.m. EST the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 421 South in Jackson County.

Initial investigation has revealed that a Buick Regal was traveling south on Highway 421 near Tyner. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a culvert causing it to overturn. The operator, Lida Abner, 72 years old of Annville, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in London where she was pronounced deceased. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision and the driver was not wearing her seat belt. There were not any passengers in the vehicle.

Trooper Aaron Hall is the investigating officer and was assisted at the scene by, Jackson County EMS, Jackson County Constable, Pond Creek Fire Department, McKee Fire Department, and the Gray Hawk Fire Department.
