KSP Appoints New Post 7 Commander, Two Lieutenants and One Sergeant

(Richmond, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 7, located in Richmond, KY, is under the command of Captain Gregory L. Crockett. Capt. Crockett received his KSP commission in August of 1996 and was appointed as the Post 7 commander on November 16, 2013. Capt. Crockett is a native of Richmond, KY and most recently served as the Commander of Post 6, located in Dry Ridge, KY. Capt. Crockett began his career as a Trooper assigned to the Pikeville Post and later transferred to the Richmond Post as a Trooper. Capt. Crockett previously served as a Detective and Sergeant at Post 7. Other prior assignments include being a Trooper on the Executive Security Detail, a Sergeant at Post 1 in Mayfield, and a Lieutenant at the Criminal Identification & Records Branch.
Post 7 also welcomes two new Lieutenants and one Sergeant.
Lieutenant Cindy L. Langer was promoted to Lieutenant on November 16, 2013 and assigned as the Operations Lieutenant at Post 7. LT. Langer is a resident of Nicholasville, KY, and a 20 year veteran of the State Police. LT. Langer began her career with the State Police as a Trooper assigned to Post 6 in Dry Ridge, KY. LT. Langer later served as a Trooper at Post 7, a member of the Executive Security Detail, a Detective in the DE/SI East Branch, and a Sergeant at both the Dry Ridge Post and Driver's Testing Branch.
Lieutenant Christopher D. Steward was promoted to Lieutenant on November 16, 2013 and assigned as the Investigative Lieutenant at Post 7. LT. Steward is a resident of Independence, KY, and a 14 year veteran of the State Police. LT. Steward began his career with the State Police in 2000 and assigned to the Dry Ridge Post as a Trooper. LT. Steward was promoted to Sergeant in 2010 and remained at the Dry Ridge Post.
Sergeant Glen Combs is a resident of Jackson, KY, and an 11 year veteran of the State Police. Sergeant Combs began his career as a Trooper at the Campbellsburg Post in 2002. Sergeant Combs has also served as a Trooper at both the Richmond and Hazard Posts. Sergeant Combs was promoted to Sergeant in August of 2012 and assigned to the Ashland Post.
