KSP Investigates Lincoln County Fatal Fire

(Eubank, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Richmond Post is currently investigating a fatal fire that occurred on Joe McMullin Road in Lincoln County.

On Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 11:05 pm EST, the Kentucky State Police and Lincoln County Fire Department responded to 192 Joe McMullin Road for a house fire. Everett Garland, 64 years old, and Linda Garland, 60 years old of Eubank were pronounced deceased after being located inside the burned residence.

Kentucky State Police Detective Rodney Wren and Arson Investigator Pat Alford responded to the scene. As a result of their investigation it was determined that the fire was intentionally set by a juvenile that was in the residence. On November 21, 2013 at 6:30 am, the juvenile was charged with two counts of Murder and one count of Arson 1st Degree.

The investigation is ongoing by KSP Detective Rodney Wren and Arson Investigator Pat Alford. Detective Wren was assisted by troopers from the Richmond and London Posts, Lincoln County Sheriff Department, Waynesburg Fire Department, State Fire Marshalls Office, and the Lincoln County Court Designated Worker.
