Kentucky State Police Conduct Death Investigation in Garrard County

(Crab Orchard, KY) -- On Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 7:19 pm. EDT troopers from the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post responded to Drakes Creek near Crab Orchard to check the welfare of the homeowner. Family members had not heard from Ormand VanWinkle for several days and were concerned for his welfare.

Ormand VanWinkle, 64 years old of Crab Orchard, was found deceased in his residence. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday to determine the cause of death.

Detective Jeremy Hamm is the investigating officer and was assisted at the scene by Detective Michael Keeton, Trooper Josh Chenault, and the Garrard County Coroner.
