Bank Robbed in Owen County

(New Liberty, KY) -- Detectives from Kentucky State Police Post 5 are investigating a bank robbery that happened this morning (02/23/2013) at the First Farmers Bank and Trust in New Liberty, KY. Dispatchers at Post 5 received a call of an alarm coming from the bank at 11:46 a.m. Video from bank cameras shows the perpetrator entering the bank and going to a teller window. The subject then told the tellers to give him all their money. After getting the money, the perpetrator fled the bank in and unknown direction. The subject did not produce a weapon during the robbery.
Tellers described the perpetrator as a white male who appeared to be in his early twenties, approximately 5'8" and 140 lbs. He was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt and dark pants at the time of the robbery.
Detective Steve Goodale is leading the ongoing investigation. Detective Goodale was assisted by the Owen County Sheriff's Department and the Owenton Police Department. Anyone with information on the perpetrator can contact KSP Post 5 at 502-532-6363.
