Felony Arrest in Hart County

(Bowling Green, KY) -- On Thursday, April 25, 2013, Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green Troopers responded to 837 Gault Terry Road in Bonnieville, KY to attempt to serve a felony arrest warrant on Darnell Shipp for probation violations on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana.
Upon their arrival at the residence, Mr. Shipp fled on foot into the woods in an attempt to evade the police. He was apprehended about 30 yards into the woods and arrested on the warrant. Troopers also located a plastic container which contained a quantity of methamphetamine which Mr. Shipp had attempted to conceal. He was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (drug unspecified), tampering with physical evidence, fleeing or evading police, 2nd degree, (on foot), and being a persistent felony offender. Mr. Shipp was lodged in the Hart County Jail.
