Injury Collision on the Pennyrile Parkway

(Madisonville, KY) - On Friday, December 20, 2013, the Kentucky State Police, Post 02, Madisonville, responded to a two vehicle injury collision on the Pennyrile Parkway at the 33 mile marker in Hopkins County. Upon arrival on the scene by K.S.P. Troopers, the investigation showed that 31 year old Sarah Hancock of Nortonville was operating a 2006 Buick, and 56 year old Faith Draper of Manning SC, was operating a 2009 Dodge Journey. They were both traveling south on the Pennyrile Parkway with Ms. Hancock in the left lane and Ms. Draper in the right lane. Ms. Hancock observed a stranded vehicle smoking on the right shoulder and applied the brakes. She lost control of her vehicle and collided with the side of Ms. Draper's vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest facing east blocking both lanes of travel. The occupants of both vehicles were transported to Baptist Health for observation. Trooper Bartolotti was assisted on scene by TPR. Nathan Craft, Sgt. Daniel White, Hopkins County Fire and Rescue and Hopkins County EMS. The investigation continues by Trooper Joe Bartolotti.
