(Christian County) -- Donald Coffey was operating a 2012 Jeep Wrangler on I-24 at the 88 Mile Marker in the eastbound lane of travel, in the construction work zone. Joel Warhurst was operating a 2004 Mazda Miata on I-24 in the eastbound lane of travel, behind Donald Coffey. Mr. Coffey was stopped in traffic in the right eastbound lane of travel. The front bumper of Mr. Warhurst's vehicle then struck the rear bumper of Mr. Coffey's vehicle, causing the rear portion of Mr. Coffey's vehicle to become airborne.
