Date of News Release: 05/02/2013

Oak Grove, KY. (Christian County) -- The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, non-injury collision that occurred on I-24, at approximately the 90 mile-marker eastbound, on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 4:14 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Roylee D. Erwin, 60 of Clarksville, TN, was operating a 2006 Ford Ranger eastbound on I-24 when it appears that he experienced a diabetic emergency. His vehicle traveled into the median where it overturned several times. The vehicle came to rest on the driver's side in the median.

Mr. Erwin, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured. He was transported via ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center due to his medical emergency. There were no passengers.

Trooper Jonathan Carlock investigated the collision. Trooper Michael Dennis, the Christian County Sheriff's Department, the Oak Grove Police Department, Oak Grove Fire & Rescue, Christian County EMS, and the State Highway Department assisted at the scene.
