Bremen Man Injured in a Collision on KY 181

Bremen, KY. (Muhlenberg County) -- The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on KY 181, approximately 3 miles south of Bremen, on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at 10:50 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Larry D. Burden, 51 of Bremen, KY, was operating a 1989 Chevrolet pickup truck southbound on KY 181. As Mr. Burden was negotiating a curve, his vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway. It struck a culvert and became airborne. The vehicle landed on its driver's side and overturned in the roadway. It exited the roadway and struck a ditch. The vehicle came to rest upright; partially in the ditch and partially in the southbound lane.
Mr. Burden, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported via ambulance to Cal-Maine Foods property where a helicopter then transported him to St. Mary's in Evansville, IN for treatment of multiple injuries.
Trooper Jerry Knight investigated the collision. The Bremen Volunteer Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
