Greenville Woman Charged with Theft of Drugs

Greenville, KY (Muhlenberg County) – The Kentucky State Police charged a Greenville woman with theft of a controlled substance.

On Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at approximately 1:40 p.m., KSP Detective Brandon McPherson arrested Jennifer R. Whitney, age 38 of Greenville, KY. Ms. Whitney was charged with one count of Theft of a Controlled Substance (Class D Felony).

The KSP Post 2 Madisonville had received a complaint from the Muhlenberg Community Hospital in reference to a nurse stealing medication from patients under her care. Det. McPherson's investigation revealed that Ms. Whitney would replace the patient's prescription medicine with over-the-counter medicine. As a result of his investigation, Det. McPherson was able to obtain an arrest warrant for Ms. Whitney.

Det. McPherson, along with Tpr. Craig Engler and Tpr. Jerry Knight, executed the arrest warrant on Ms. Whitney during a traffic stop in Beechmont. She was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
