Felony Drug Arrest in Muhlenberg County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On January 4, 2013, at 5:35 P.M., Trooper Jon McGehee conducted a traffic stop on a 1994 BMW passenger car for traffic violations. The operator, Jessi A. Abshire, was cited to court for traffic violations. During the course of the traffic stop, Trooper McGehee developed probable cause to believe that controlled substances were located inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was then conducted. Inside the vehicle was located approximately 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, items used to ingest and distribute controlled substances, and prescription medication. Mrs. Abshire was then lodged at the Muhlenberg County Detention Center for Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense Methamphetamine.
