KSP holding annual "Cram the Cruiser" food drive

Cram the Cruiser Food Drive

(Hickory, Ky.) -- Starting Friday, November 22nd, you can help feed needy families for the Christmas Holiday. Friday kicks off the 5th annual "Cram the Cruiser" food drive at Kentucky State Police Post 1. Beginning November 22nd through December 13th, a Kentucky State Police cruiser will be parked at the entrance of KSP Post 1 which is located at 8366 State Route 45 North in Hickory. Anyone who wishes can drop off non perishable food items in the State Police cruiser during that time. During non business hours, items can be dropped off in the lobby of Post 1. On December 13th, Kentucky State Police will take the items to a local food pantry for distribution to families. KSP Post 1 collected and distributed 11, 350 pounds of food in 2012.

Papa John's stores located in Murray, Paducah, and Lone Oak have teamed up with KSP this year on the food drive. The stores will be a collection point for KSP and anyone can drop of non-perishable foods items there or at Post 1.

KSP will have a cruiser at the Kroger Supermarket in Murray on November 22nd and 29th from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. both days. KSP will have a cruiser at the Food Giant in Eddyville on November 27th from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M.
