KSP works Fatality in Livingston County

(Smithland, Ky.) - The Kentucky State Police received a report of a three vehicle collision on US 60 west of Smithland at approximately 5:47 A.M. on Tuesday November 12, 2013.

Upon initial investigation, Dustin T. Driskill, 22 of Marion, KY was operating a 1999 Honda Civic west bound on US 60. For an unknown reason Driskill veered into the east bound lane and struck 1995 Ford utility truck head on, which was driven by Michael W. Wurth, 52 of Boaz, Ky. Driskill's vehicle was then struck by a 2008 Pontiac Vibe traveling in the west bound lane being operated by Jerrod L. Jennings, 27 of Burna, KY.

Driskill was pronounced dead on the scene by the Livingston County Coroner. Neither Wurth nor Jennings received injuries from the collision, both were wearing their seatbelts. Driskill was not wearing a seatbelt.

Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, Livingston County Coroner, Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Livingston County EMS, and the Smithland Fire Department. The investigation is continuing by Collision Reconstructionist, Sergeant Joey Adams.
