Louisville Woman Killed in a Collision on Highway 94 East

(Hickory, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police responded to Highway 94 East in Calloway County for an injury accident. Preliminary investigation indicates that Shelby C. Theiss was westbound and lost control of the vehicle while crossing a snow/ice covered bridge. Ms. Theiss then entered the opposite lane of traffic and was struck by William J. Blackford's vehicle, which was eastbound at the time of the collision. Murray-Calloway County EMS extricated Ms. Theiss and transported her to Murray-Calloway County Hospital, where she died shortly after arrival. Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by KSP-Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Calloway County Sheriff's Department, Murray Police Department, and Calloway County Fire/Rescue. The investigation is continuing by Tpr. Jody Cash.
