Injury Collision on KY 810 North in Lyon County

(Hickory, KY.) -- A vehicle being operated by Jay Newell on KY 810 North left the right side of the roadway, traveled down an embankment and struck an earthen ditch and utility pole guide wire. Mr. Newell was extricated from the vehicle by Lyon County Rescue, Eddyville and Kuttawa Fire Departments. He was transported to Western Baptist Hospital by Lyon County EMS. A dog in the vehicle was not injured and was collected by the Lyon County Animal Control Officer for short term care. The accident occurred on a wet roadway, during rainy conditions. Agencies assisting on scene were Lyon County Rescue, Lyon County EMS, Eddyville and Kuttawa Fire Departments and Lyon County Animal Control. The accident was investigated by Trooper First Class (TFC) Lewie Dodd.
