Three Vehicle Collision on US 51 North in Ballard County

(Hickory, KY) -- Rhonda Johnson was traveling northbound on US 51 North with 5 juvenile passengers. According to witnesses, a black car traveling southbound attempted to pass another vehicle and almost collided with Ms. Johnson's vehicle before swerving back into its lane. Ms. Johnson swerved towards the northbound shoulder to avoid colliding with the black car. Ms. Johnson over corrected into the southbound lane and lost control of her vehicle. Ms. Johnson then struck the back end of the Roy Keller vehicle, who was traveling southbound. Mr. Keller's vehicle became out of control and crossed both lanes of traffic. Mr. Keller collided with the bridge on the northbound shoulder and came to rest. The Johnson vehicle continued traveling sideways in the southbound lane. The passenger side of Ms. Johnson's vehicle struck the front of Jacob Metz's vehicle, who was traveling southbound. Ms. Johnson's vehicle then overturned and came to final rest on its roof. Mr. Metz's vehicle came to final rest in the southbound lane. Mr. Metz, his passenger, and all occupants in Ms. Johnson vehicle were transported to Lourdes and Western Baptist Hospitals. Mr. Keller was treated and released at the scene.
