Hartford Man Arrested on Drug-Related Charges

(Henderson, KY) - On Monday, October 14, 2013, at approximately 12:45 p.m., troopers and detectives with the Kentucky State Police; KSP DE/SI units and conservation officers with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources executed a search warrant at a residence located around the 3400 block of Belltown Road, about nine miles north of Hartford. The search stems from a three month long investigation into the illegal trafficking in controlled substances.
Upon executing the search warrant, authorities located suspected opiates in the Donald V. Kershner residence.
Kersher was arrested without incident and lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center in Hartford.
He was charged with (2) counts of Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense Greater than Ten Dosage Units of Opiates, which is a C-felony.
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife have launched a separate investigation and state and federal charges are likely.
The investigation is continuing.
