Washington County Injury Collision leads to Arrest

(Springfield, Ky.) -- Sgt. Fred Cornett is investigating a collsion that occurrred on Friday, January 25 at approximately 11:45 PM EDT 15 miles north of Springfield on the Bluegrass Parkway. 22-year-old Adrian Bennett of Lexington was traveling west on the Bluegrass Parkway in his 2007 Dodge when he rear ended a westbound 1999 Ford Escort. The Escort was operated by 42-year-old Melissa Kenney of Elizabethtown who was wearing a seatbelt but was transported to Springview Hospital. Bennett was belted and not injured but was arrested for Driving Under the Influence 1st Offense, Operating on a Suspended License, Failure to Produce Insurance Card, No Insurance, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. He was lodged in the Marion County Detention Center.
