Felony Arrests in Carter County Meth Lab

(Ashland, Ky.) -- On Saturday January 19, 2013 The Kentucky State Police in Ashland received a tip of a suspected methamphetamine lab at a residence located on Laurel Lane in Olive Hill, KY. Troopers responded to the residence and made contact with Virginia Spears. Upon search of the residence Troopers located Randal R. Lucas hiding under a bed. Mr. Lucas provided Troopers with false information in an attempt to conceal his identity. Mr. Lucas also gave false information about needles that were concealed on his body. Upon further search a methamphetamine lab, finished product (methamphetamine) and additional items of drug paraphernalia were located at the residence.
Randal R. Lucas, age 23, of Olive Hill, KY was arrested; lodged in the Carter County Detention Center and charged with:
- Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st Offense
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
- Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree Police Officer
- Giving Officer False Name or Address
- Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess
- Execution of Bench Warrant for Court (4 counts)
Virginia Spears, age 32, of Olive Hill, KY was arrested; lodged in the Carter County Detention Center and charged with:
- Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st Offense
- Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess
- Failure to Notify Address Change to Department of Transportation
Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigation also responded and assisted.
The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Bryant Marcum.
