Felony Drug Arrest in Greenup County

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland have arrested a Greenup County resident after conducting an investigation into illegal drug activity by the suspect.

The Kentucky State Police received information that Frank W. Basenback was engaging in Trafficking illegal prescription narcotics.

On Monday January 7, 2012 Troopers and Detectives from the Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland conducted a controlled buy and bust operation. Arrangements were made to purchase oxycodone prescription pills from Mr. Basenback. Contact was made and Basenback produced 3 oxycodone pills and completed an illegal transaction. During the course of the investigation search warrants were executed and over $20,000.00 in cash was also seized.

Frank W. Basenback, age 25, of Flatwoods, KY was arrested, lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense.

The investigation is ongoing by Detectives from Post 14.
