Felony Drug Arrest in Boyd County

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland have arrested four Boyd County residents after conducting an investigation into illegal drug activity by the suspects.

The Kentucky State Police received information that a package containing several pounds of marijuana had been shipped from Arizona to 824 1/2 Bath Avenue Ashland, KY.

On Friday January 4, 2012 Troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland made a controlled delivery of the intercepted marijuana to 824 1/2 Bath Avenue in Ashland, KY. Search warrants were executed at the residence and approximately 11 pounds of marijuana and drug paraphernalia items were seized at the residence. During the course of the investigation it was determined the intended recipients of the package resided at 820 1/2 Bath Avenue

Ervin T. Woods, age 46, of 820 1/2 Bath Avenue Ashland, KY was arrested, lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana > 5 lbs – 1st Offense.
Kenneth D. Woods, age 45, of 820 1/2 Bath Avenue Ashland, KY was arrested, lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana > 5 lbs – 1st Offense.
Curtis A. Maynard, age 32 , of 824 1/2 Bath Avenue Ashland, KY was arrested, lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana > 5 lbs – 1st Offense.
Ashley D. Leake, age 28 , of 824 1/2 Bath Avenue Ashland, KY was arrested, lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana > 5 lbs – 1st Offense.

The United States Postal Inspection Service, KSP Canine Branch, Lawrence County Ohio Sheriff´s Department Canine Unit Deputy Scott Wilson also assisted with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing by Detective Jeff Kelley.
