Two Found Deceased In House Fire

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On January 13, 2013 at approximately 06:15 a.m. Perry County 911 received a call of a house fire in the Scuddy community of Perry County. After the fire was extinguished firemen found two subjects in the house deceased.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the fire started in a skillet on the cook stove. Sandra K. Melton, age 64 and Suzy Rebecca Melton, age 35, both of Scuddy Ky., were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Perry County Coroner. No foul play is suspected and both are being taken to Frankfort for an autopsy. The investigation is continuing by Kentucky State Police.
