Report and Capture of Blackburn Escapee

(Frankfort, KY) - Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort investigated the escape and subsequently captured an inmate from the Blackburn Correctional Complex. On Friday, November 21, 2013 at 10:00 pm Kentucky State Police was notified that Freddy Lee Marlowe, age 30, of Louisville, had escaped from the minimum security facility.
On November 22, 2013, 12:03 am, Kentucky State Police was given information that a man matching the description of Marlowe had been seen in the Georgetown area. The subject was attempting to locate a pay phone and had been directed to the Georgetown Wal-Mart. Units located Marlowe on a pay phone inside the Wal-Mart on Osborne Way, Georgetown, KY.
Marlowe was arrested without incident, charged with Escape 2nd Degree and lodged in the Scott County Detention Center.
Marlowe has been serving a thirteen year sentence for Trafficking a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree-1st Offense-Drug Unspecified, Receiving Stolen Property O/$300, Burglary 3rd Degree, and Criminal Mischief 1st. He began serving his sentence in September of 2008.
Kentucky State Police were assisted in the investigation by Georgetown Police Department.
The investigation is continuing by Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort.
