Update to the Boone County Man Killed in a Collision on I-75
Date of News Release: 01/10/2012
(SCOTT, KY) -- – On Wednesday, January 09, 2013, at 6:45 p.m., Troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 6 Dry Ridge and Post 12 Frankfort responded to an single vehicle fatal collision on Interstate 75, MM 143, 13 miles North of Georgetown, KY.
The collision investigation revealed that a 2005 Honda Goldwing motorcycle operated by Max E. Calhoun, age 56, Union, KY, was traveling northbound on Interstate 75 when he left the north side of the roadway and struck an embankment. The Mr Calhoun was transported to Saint Elizabeth Medical Center, Grant County, were he was pronounced dead. The driver was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The collision is being investigated by Post 12 Collision Reconstruction Team. The Kentucky State Police were assisted by Grant County Sheriff’s Department, Scott County Sheriff’s Department, Dry Ridge EMS and Fire Department, and Scott County Fire Department.
