Drug Arrest in Laurel County

(LONDON, KY.) -- On Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 05:20 a.m., while on routine patrol, Sergeant Steve Walker conducted a traffic stop on a 1994, Dodge Pickup for traffic violations.
Upon making contact with driver and passenger Sergeant Walker determined both were under the influence of some substance that impaired the physical abilities. The driver was arrested for DUI Drugs and the passenger was arrested for Public Intoxication (drugs).
After receiving consent to search the vehicle officers located approximately 4 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, 98 grams of processed and bagged Marijuana, numerous prescription medications, a set of scales and bags for packaging drugs, one shotgun, a large amount of counterfeit US currency and a large amount legitimate US currency.
Arrested at the scene were Thomas Jackson, 38, of East Bernstadt and Roger Baker, 45, of Livingston, both charged with the additional charges of Trafficking in Marijuana, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and fifty five (55) counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st Degree. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Sergeant Walker is continuing the investigation and was assisted by Deputy Justin Walker, Constable Denver Mays and officers from the United States Secret Service.
