Traffic Crash with Injury in Clay County

(LONDON, KY.) -- On Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report of a two vehicle traffic crash, with injury, on the Hal Rogers Parkway, three (3) miles west of Manchester in Clay County.
Upon arrival Trooper Justin Oliver determined that a silver, 2007, Nissan, Murano operated by Linda L. Napier, 58, of Manchester, was traveling eastbound on the Hal Rogers Parkway when it began to hydroplane on the rain slick roadway, crossed the centerline and struck a silver, 2011, Honda, CR-V, operated by Margaret L. Cowles, 33, of Berea, head-on.
Napier was transported to the Manchester Memorial Hospital, with non-life threatening injuries, where she was treated and released.
Cowles was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington for treatment of her injuries and her condition is unknown at this time.
No drug or alcohol usage was suspected.
Trooper Oliver is in charge of the investigation and was assited at the scene by the Clay County Sheriffs Office, the Clay County EMS and a local fire department.
