Post 11 Criminal Interdiction Team Activities in Laurel County

(LONDON, KY.) -- On Monday, February 11, 2013 at 4:12 p.m. the Kentucky State Police Post 11 Criminal Interdiction Team made a traffic stop on a 1999, Chevrolet, Astro, work van, for traffic violations, on Interstate 75 in Laurel County.
Upon talking to the driver and passenger of the vehicle, officers learned the driver could not produce any identification and the two occupants had conflicting statements, as to their travel history.
Upon further investigation, and the utilization of a canine, a search was conducted where 869 Oxycodone pills were located hidden in the dash of the vehicle. The passenger was also found to be in possession of a large amount of cash.
KSP Sergeant Lafe Owens arrested both the driver, Burke W. Webb, 52, of Mansfield, OH and the passenger, Calvin C. Caldwell, Jr., 54, of Mansfield, OH on the charge of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st. Both men were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Involved in the traffic stop was KSP Sergeant Lafe Owens, Trooper Ryan Loudermilk, Trooper James Moore and Trooper Jason McCowan (KSP Canine Section).
