Robbery Investigation and Arrest in Phelps, KY

(Phelps,Ky.) -- On Tuesday December 18, 2012 at 6:03 P.M. Post 9 Pikeville received a 911 call from the Phelps Double Kwik stating that the business had just been robbed. Information obtained at the scene indicates that an unidentified male entered the business, advised the clerk that he had a weapon and demanded cash and cigarettes. The unidentified male left the business with an undisclosed amount of cash. The unknown male entered a silver Dodge passenger car operated by a unknown female and fled the scene. The clerk at the business was able to give a vehicle description and a tag number to the vehicle before the vehicle fled the scene. Trooper Kevin Thacker was traveling on Ky 194 East when he observed a vehicle matching the description and tag number traveling at a high rate of speed. Trooper Thacker along with KSP Detective Jimmy Anderson conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Money from the Phelps Double Kwik was located on the person of 31 year old Larry Thacker Jr. of Kimper, Ky. which was a passenger in the vehicle. Thacker was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on 1 count of Robbery 2nd Degree and 1 count of Theft by Unlawful Taking over/500. The operator of the vehicle, Patricia Rose 48 years old of Kimper, Ky. was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on 1 count of Robbery 2nd Degree and 1 count of Theft by Unlawful Taking over / 500. This incident remains under investigation by KSP Detective Jimmy Anderson.
