KWLEN Awards Ceremony

(Frankfort, Ky.) -- On Thursday November 8, 2012 Kentucky State Police Post 9 Sgt. Jennifer Sandlin, Tele communicator Supervisor Vickie Rowe and Karen Leonard (mother of fallen Trooper Jonathan Leonard) traveled to Frankfort, Ky. to take part in the Kentucky Women's Law Enforcement Network awards ceremony. Sgt. Jennifer Sandlin is the 2012 recipient of the KWLEN Leadership award. Sgt. Sandlin said, "I am honored to be accepting the leadership award from the KWLEN. I have been a member of the organization for six years. Being an active member of KWLEN has assisted me to develop as a leader. It also afforded me the opportunity to nominate other people to receive awards this year. As much as I appreciate being presented with this award I am even more proud to see two other strong women, Vickie Rowe and Karen Leonard, whom are also leaders in their community accept their awards."
Tele communicator Supervisor Vickie Rowe is the 2012 recipient of the KWLEN Civilian award. Vickie Rowe said, "I am truly honored and humbled to receive this award from KWLEN and to be recognized for my commitment to KSP and my community."
Karen Leonard is the 2012 recipient of the KWLEN Benefactor award. Karen Leonard said, "I am honored and humbled, I would have never imagined that I would be recognized for what I have done."
Captain Curtis O'Bannon said, "Post 9 is proud of the recognition of these ladies. Each is a valuable asset to our Post and an incredible asset to our community."
