Double Shooting in Marrowbone, KY

(Marrowbone, Ky.) -- On Sunday March 18, 2012 at 9:51 p.m. Kentucky State Police Post 9 Pikeville received a call of a double shooting in the Marrowbone community of Pike County. KSP units responded to the scene and located 44 year old James E. Bowling of Elkhorn City deceased from a single gunshot wound. Mr. Bowling was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Deputy Coroner Denver Bailey. A second victim Phillip Silcox 46 of Elkhorn City was located and transported to Pikeville Medical Center for a single gunshot wound. Phillip Silcox was later pronounced dead by Pike County Deputy Coroner Zeb Hampton. This incident remains under investigation by KSP Detective Gary Sykes.
