KSP Post 8 and Wolfe County Courts hold Mock DUI
Date of News Release: 12/19/2012
(MOREHEAD, KY) – On Monday, December 17, 2012 Kentucky State Police Trooper Endre Samu coordinated with the Wolfe County High School and Court system in conducting a Mock DUI Trial. The "trial" was based on the mock accident held at the high school this past fall. In this phase, the senior class witnessed first-hand how a trial is conducted, the importance of details, and the interaction of law enforcement with the various judicial offices. Students took an active role in the courtroom setting, acting as the judge,
prosecution and defense as depicted in the picture. Lessons learned from this activity will provide a lasting impression in many aspects of their lives. Acting as the Prosecutor was Trevor Cox, for the defense was Rachael Banks and the presiding Judge was Larissa Banks. Special thanks to Principal Greg Creech, Circuit Judge Fletcher, County Attorney Steve Johnson, Public Defender Lisa Whisman, Circuit Clerk Debbie Sparks and Chief Deputy Clerk Colin Sparks.
