2012 Kentucky State Police Morehead Shop With a Trooper
Date of News Release: 12/14/2012
(Morehead, KY) -- On December 11, 2012 Santa Claus accompanied by his Elf were greeted by 30 youth and their families at the Carl Perkins Center for the 2012 "Shop with a Trooper" activities. On hand to meet the children and their families were Troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead. The stage was set for the children to receive their Christmas wishes and make friends with all KSP Troopers and families that participated. Each child sat patiently waiting for a chance to visit with Santa. Their names were called out to ensure their place on the "naughty or nice" list. The excitement filled the room as we all waited for what was yet to come.
Each uniformed KSP Trooper paired themselves with a family. Santa and his devoted elf gave each child a stocking filled with goodies, toys and a book on Eagles. The Troopers and their new found friends moved the activities to Dairy Queen near Morehead State University, where the children were treated to a special meal donated by owner, Mr. Perry Prather and daughter, Misty Reed. The staff of the Dairy Queen was full of Christmas joy, ensuring that each child received a meal befitting the season. The Christmas entourage then headed to Wal-Mart where they were greeted by the store manager, Scott Napier and his staff with warm smiles. The evening concluded with each child embracing well deserved gifts, priceless smiles from ear to ear, new found friendship and a night they would always remember. The children and their families embraced the true meaning of Christmas. Merry Christmas to All.
