Trooper Involved Shooting Investigation

(Flemingsburg, KY) -- On Thursday November 8, 2012 the Kentucky State Police and the Fleming County Sheriff's department responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Ky. 3301 in the Beechburg area of Fleming County. Upon officer's arrival they were confronted by Mr. James Hay, who was armed with a firearm. Officers pleaded with Mr. Hay for approximately an hour to put down his weapon. Mr. Hay refused to comply and threatened the officers with the firearm at which time the officers shot and fatally wounded Mr. Hay. An autopsy is scheduled for next date in Frankfort. The incident remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
