Murder Investigation in Bath County

Date of News Release: 10/20/2012

(Owingsville, KY) -- On Friday, October 19, 2012 Kentucky State Police Morehead received a call for service in reference to a fight in progress involving a large number of Hispanic males on White Oak Road in Owingsville, KY. Multiple Kentucky State Police Morehead Troopers responded to the scene along with Deputies from the Bath County Sheriff's office. Upon arrival, a Hispanic male was found deceased at the residence with several stab wounds. Joel Fantizo-Perez was located at the scene and charged with Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Mr. Fantizo-Perez has been lodged at the Montgomery County Detention Center in Mt. Sterling, KY. The incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Detective David Zimmerman.
