KSP Trooper Recovers Stolen Guns

(Morehead, KY) -- On September 12, 2012 Trooper N. Robinson arrested Josh McKee and Amanda Spencer of Tea Run Road in Fleming County on unrelated felony warrants. During the arrest proceedings, Trooper Robinson observed six M1 Grand rifles, described as five Springfield and one Winchester, within the residence. During a two week investigation period, Trooper Robinson was able to confirm with the Commander of the American Legion Post that the weapons were stolen on September 11, 2012 from the ALP # 236 in Calvert City, KY. The rifles are part of the ceremonial equipment used by the Honor Guard. The value of the rifles is over $10,000.00. Trooper Robinson is credited in solving an unreported crime by taking the initiative to question what he observed during the initial arrest. Josh McKee and Amanda Spencer are each charged with Receiving Stolen Property with additional charges pending from Marshall County, KY. McKee is currently lodged at the Mason County Jail and Spencer is lodged at the Grant County Jail. The case remains under investigation by Trooper N. Robinson.
