Non-injury accident involving Trooper in Montgomery County

(Mt. Sterling, KY) – On Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 12:27 a.m. Kentucky State Police in Morehead was notified by Trooper Anson Tribby that he was involved in a two vehicle non-injury accident on North Maysville Road near Johnson Avenue in Mt. Sterling while on routine patrol. David Walters of Mt. Sterling was operating a 1992 Chevrolet Pickup truck on North Maysville Street when he struck Trooper Tribbys cruiser. Mr. Walters was arrested and charged with Reckless Driving, Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree-Police Officer, Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree, and Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs/ect. .08 1st Offense. Mr. Walters was lodged at Montgomery County Detention Center. The accident remains under investigation by Sergeant Jeff Lewis.
