KSP Post 8 "Tiny Town" supports "Charlie's Challenge"
Date of News Release: 07/28/2012
(Morehead, KY) - On Saturday, July 28, 2012 the Kentucky State Police Post 8 Public Affairs Officer, Senior Trooper Endre Samu and Trooper Michael Wathen displayed the newly created bicycle safety program, "Tiny Town" at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. "Tiny Town" was part of a safety day activity in association with "Charlie's Challenge." Michelle Semones wanted to honor her son with a helmet giveaway as a result of the loss of her 5-year-old son, Charlie, who was hit by an SUV while biking.
The "Tiny Town" program is genesis to the Kentucky State Police and Post 8. It is designed to be a portable unit to promote traffic safety through displays such as a traffic and railroad signal, traffic signs, etc.
