KSP Post 8 Welcomes Three New Troopers

(Morehead, KY) -- Kentucky State Police Post 8 Commander, Captain Bobby D. Murray welcomes three new Troopers to the Morehead Post. The new troopers were part of the agency's third Law Enforcement Accelerated Program (LEAP), a condensed course for current police officers who have three years of Kentucky Police Officer Professional Standards (POPS) law enforcement experience. They started an 11-week training cycle on April 15, 2012.

Trooper Jared Wagner is from Fleming County and graduated from Fleming County High School in 2002. He attended Morehead State University and also Maysville Community College. In 2006 he was hired by the Fleming County Sheriff's Office and was employed there for over six years. He has been married nearly five years and has one son.

Trooper Grant Faulkner is from Powell County and graduated from Powell County High School in 2005. He attended Eastern Kentucky University for two and half years. Faulkner had been employed with the Powell County Sheriff’s Department before transferring to the Stanton Police Department for the past 2 years.

Trooper Thurman Dwayne Paige is from Fleming County and graduated from the Fleming County High School in 1995. He also attended Morehead State University. Trooper Paige was employed for 6 years at Flemingsburg Police Department and 3 years as a Deputy Sheriff with Fleming County Sheriff's Office. He has been married for 13 years and has three children.
