Powell County Drug Arrest

(Clay City, KY) -- On Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 12:23 A.M. Kentucky State Police, Morehead, Trooper Brandon Eversole while on routine patrol conducted a traffic stop at the Park and Ride Gas Station in Clay City. Trooper Kenny Yarber and KSP CVE Officer Daniel Abner assisted Trooper Eversole on the stop. The 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe was operated by Johnnie Stanley of Winchester. Mr. Stanley gave Troopers consent to search the vehicle. Troopers located several types of drugs in the vehicle including heroin, cocaine, and multiple other narcotics. Mr. Stanley and a passenger in the vehicle Bobby Ford of Winchester, were taken into custody and charged with Trafficking in controlled substances 1st Degree 1st Offense(Cocaine), Trafficking in controlled substances 1st Degree 1st Offense(Heroin), and Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle. William Washington of Paris was also a passenger in the vehicle he was taken into custody and charged with Trafficking in controlled substances 1st Degree 1st Offense(Cocaine), Trafficking in controlled substances 1st Degree 1st Offense(Heroin), Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle and Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree-Drug Unspecified. The subjects are lodged at the Powell County Detention Center. The case remains under investigation by Trooper Brandon Eversole.
