Four Injured in Two Vehicle Collision on Sandy Ridge Road

(Campton, KY) - On Sunday, May 27, 2012, at 7:18 P.M. Kentucky State Police in Morehead received a call from Wolfe County Dispatch in reference to a two vehicle injury accident involving an ATV on Sandy Ridge Road in Wolfe County. Trooper Joseph Zalone, KSP CVE officer Dennis Johnson, Wolfe County Fire and EMS responded to the scene. Gregory Havens of West Liberty and Lankan Wells of Sandy Hook were traveling northbound on Sandy Ridge Road on a 2011 Polaris Razor. Mr. Havens failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the ATV. The ATV struck a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier traveling southbound before both vehicles came to final rest on the roadway. The Chevrolet Cavalier was operated by Dustin Bush of Campton. Gregory Havens, Lankan Wells, and Dustin Bush were taken to Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson by Wolfe County EMS. Lauren Tolson of Campton, passenger in the Chevrolet Cavalier, was airlifted from the scene to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Joseph Zalone.
