Date of News Release: 05/24/2012

(Morehead, KY) On Thursday, May 24th, 2012, at approximately 2:11 p.m., Kentucky State Police Post 8 was notified by the Morehead Dispatch of a single vehicle accident at the 135 mile marker on I-64. Trooper Brent Sparks responded to the scene. Judy Wolford had been traveling westbound on I-64 when she attempted to enter the right lane of travel. However, another vehicle was blocking her path and she steered her vehicle off the roadway to avoid a collision. Once Ms. Wolford entered the median in her red Chevy Silverado, she attempted to re-enter the left travel lane. In doing so, she overcorrected and the vehicle flipped approximately two times according to witnesses at the scene. Ms. Wolford was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center by PHI. Four other passengers, including a male juvenile, were transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center by Rowan County EMS. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Brent Sparks.
