(Morehead, KY) – Kentucky State Police Post 8 at Morehead received information of a multiple shooting in Powell County. Randall Derickson, 51 of Stanton was involved in a confrontation with his ex-girlfriend Lori Hall-Boswell, 35 at her residence on Sipple Street in Stanton, that resulted in Ms. Boswell receiving a single gunshot wound to the head. Mr. Derickson then fled the area in his black pickup truck and proceeded to another residence across town on Karen Drive. A neighbor at the second residence, Rhonda Rogers, 35 confronted Mr. Derickson after observing Mr. Derickson cause a disturbance outside of the home. Mr. Derickson responded by shooting Ms. Rogers. Ms. Rogers succumbed to her injuries. Mr. Derickson then attempted to return to Sipple Street, when he was stopped at a roadblock set up adjacent to the Save-A-Lot convenient store. Mr. Derickson eluded law enforcement and proceeded towards Sipple Street, stopping on the roadway near the previous incident. Local law enforcement positioned themselves behind the vehicle Mr. Derickson was operating. While remaining in his truck, Mr. Derickson was observed to commit a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
