Powell County Fatal Traffic Accident

Date of News Release: 05/17/2012

(Stanton, KY) On May 6, 2012 at 1103 hours, Kentucky State Police, Post 8 Morehead received a call from Powell County Dispatch requesting assistance with a two vehicle injury accident at the intersection of KY213 and Jerrica Leigh Lane in Stanton. Billy Flippo was attempting to turn into Jerrica Leigh Lane from KY213 South when a 2005 Mercury Sable, operated by Richard Noble attempted to pass Mr. Flippo. Mr. Noble struck the front left bumper of Mr. Flippo's vehicle causing him to lose control and travel over an embankment. The vehicle then struck a utility pole and overturned. Richard Noble and a juvenile passenger were transported to Clark Regional Medical Center where they were treated for non-lifethreatening injuries and released . Franki Noble was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where she later died on May 17, 2012 from injuries sustained during the accident on May 06, 2012. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Brandon Eversole.


3 Injured in a Two Car Collision in Powell County

(Stanton, KY) On May 6th, 2012 Kentucky State Police Morehead received a phone call from Powell County Dispatch requesting assistance with a 2 vehicle injury accident at the intersection of Ky 213 and Jerrica Leigh Lane. Billy Flippo was attempting to turn into Jerrica Leigh Lane from Ky 213 South when a 2005 Mercury Sable, operated by Richard Noble attempted to pass Mr. Flippo. Mr. Noble struck the front left bumper of Mr. Flippo's vehicle causing him to lose control and travel over an embankment. The vehicle then struck an electric pole and overturned. Richard Noble and juvenile passenger was transported to Clark Regional Medical Center where they were treated and released for non-life threatening injuries. Frankie Noble was air lifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital where she is currently listed in critical condition. Trooper Brandon Eversole, Unit 272, Powell County Sheriff Department and Powell County EMS responded to the scene. Accident remains under the investigation of Trooper Brandon Eversole, Unit 272.
