One Arrested After Injury Collision on KY 36

(Owingsville, KY) -- On Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. Sgt. Jim Bowling with Kentucky State Police Post 8 responded to a minor injury, two-vehicle accident on KY 36 approximately six miles west of Owingsville. The investigation revealed that Charles Johnson was traveling east on KY 36 in a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro when he crossed the center line striking a 2007 Chevrolet SUV operated by Brittany Lemay. As a result of the accident Mrs. Lemay suffered minor injury from her seat belt and airbag deployment. An infant child in Mrs. Lemay's vehicle was not injured. During the course of the accident investigation a large quantity of processed marijuana was located in Mr. Johnson's vehicle. Mr. Johnson was subsequently arrested for DUI 1st Offense, Trafficking in Marijuana Over 8 Ounces 2nd Offense, two counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and No Current Proof of Insurance. Mr. Johnson was lodged in the Montgomery County Jail. The incident remains under investigation by Sgt. Jim Bowling.
